What the heck is going on? We have pedophile and predator politicians, like Foley, Gauthier, West, and Studds, and coaches, like Sandusky and Hoffner, who prey on the young. Then there are your general, run of the mill perverts, like Weiner.  And lets not forget about the hypocritical perverts like Craig and Vitter who like to pick up prostitutes while, of course, pretending to be upstanding members of the community by denouncing the very activities they engage in. Even Newsvine isnt immune to these kind of "people".

What is it that makes someone in a position of power (politician, teacher, coach, etc.) think they can get away with this kind of behavior? What goes on in their head that makes them think its ok?
